Too good to be true? Ebay Mintex brake kits...

Featured Replies

Pay for what you get.

I think people have purchased these for the mk1 vrs, probably good as long as you don't use the brake peddle a lot.

I thought Mintex stuff was a good OEM quality?

It they are that good how can they be sold so cheap.

May be cheap import or copies.

I have tried cheap brake discs in the past and they were sh!t.

Up to use if you want to take a chance or not.

Yep mintex is good quality stuff, i used to use their pads in the rally car.

Thats exactly why I started the thread!

just get em tom it wont matter if they are not that good you will proberly have a differnt car by the time they arive:rofl:

They should be up to OEM spec at least. They could be cheap because of rebranding, excess stock, administration clearance.....

Mintex/Pagid/Textar are all part of TMD friction group and IIRC GSF sell them

They are OEM quallity parts.

Or more likely because they are cheap chinese copies.

Not what you want on your brakes!

Recently bought one of these sets for the Focus. They are genuine Mintex and certainly not cheap knock-off parts. They are really good value- defo OEM spec.

I found these just after I bought the OEM bits from a dealer. Would be tempted if I hadn't already bought some.

I too am rather suspicious of cheap stuff on ebay. If there's a Ralph Lauren cashmere sweater on there for £30, it's only £30 - while they're £300 in the shops - for a reason. There was a seller selling loads and loads of gabriel shocks (which I believe is a good brand?!) and they were ridiculously cheap, so I decided not to bother reasoning they may well be fake. I think also the seller appeared to have re-registered after ditching another Ebay account which had picked up plenty of negative feedback.
