1.4 16v idle adjustment

Featured Replies

My wife recently bought a Fabia Bohemia Estate 1.4 16v, I am fairly happy with the car like the look and space inside, although the performance is poor..

I noticed that the idle speed looked low on the rev counter hovering about 6-700RPM.

I borrowed a VAG-COM cable from a friend and had a look at the idle speed it is set at 673RPM I tried to increase it using adaption channel 1 but it would not work. Strange because I managed to adjust the same happily on my Superb..

I sent a message to the tech support and they confirm it can't be done using VAG-Com.

The question is how can it be done, do I need to take it back to the dealer..

Thanks

John

It might be that the low idle speed is a symptom of something else, may be a dirty throttle body.
