Is there anyone supplying this kit a bit cheaper I was quoted £426.97 from the one in the link

You could try a TPS parts centre if you have one nearby.

Trade Parts Specialists

Seems reasonable enough.

I received the dreaded news from customer services today and they wont replace the flywheel even though the clutch was changed by the last owner at 44k its now done 75 k and I have put up with it banging away from 64 K it was banging away when I got it in July at 64K from a renault dealer in Keele but did not notice until I arrived in Plymouth on holiday the same day

booked in for Monday:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

I hope these prices can help some of you when getting a service or parts from the dealers;)

I knew the SMF and clutch were quite cheap, they've recently reduced the prices on those and DMF's hence why I suggested TPS.

Good price for fitted though.

Called them first thing and they wanted £380 for the kit alone:eek:

I think they have realised quite how many DMF's they will be selling.

I'm still waiting to see how the 2.0TDI SMF's work out as I'm sick of replacing DMF's, however at the same time i don't want it to sound like a knackered tractor.

This sort of query seems to keep coming up.

Should we have a sticky for 'latest best prices'?

By your comment would I be right in thinking you work at a stealer's??? If so why will skoda only replace the 2.0 tdi ones and not the 1.9s

No nothing to do with any dealers, I've just had it replaced so many times that I'm sick of the devices.

Put a solid flywheel clutch kit in then the dealers have them

I think there was a recall on the 2.00 tdi ones

Yes, IIRC I've had 6 and I don't drive in a way that should have a bad effect on the DMF's.

The DMFs for the 2.0 TDI are not in abundance yet and most of them from what I can see are lightened so will be noisy.

I will get mine done in the new year now i hope i don,t have to get them to constantly replace them whilst its still in warranty

Ask them to fit the solid flywheel clutch kit they will do it as its cheaper,

I have spoken to 5 taxi owners up here and they have had the same problem but got the kit fitted and everything was sorted they all said the cars run better??? one has done 146K on his single kit, he said the DMF was binned at 38K
