faulty forge 007p valve ?

Featured Replies

my car keeps throwing up the same fault since i brought it , 17705 ( VW code ) . the standard one was on its way out so i got a forge 007p of awesome-gti and fitted it .

ive still been having problems with my car for afew weeks now , and went into the garge this weekend for 4 days and had it on the computer .

i had all the pipes took off and looked at and had them re-sealed and there was nothing wrong with them .he thinks the problem lays between the air filter and the turbo and he thinks it will be the forge diverter valve causeing the problems and says to buy a new standard one to try it and see if i can keep boost .

its dumping pressure without letting my foot of or dipping the cutch .

anyone else had this problem ? or has forge had this problem ?

Same on mine m8, changed the 007 spring to yellow but only slight improvement. Send it back to Forge for a service FOC if i remember.

I have however gone back to a new OE one on mates at APS advice, and i no longer have the problems like you explain

new OE is that the standard one you can get from the skoda dealer ?

Hmm i just replaced my 007p with the standard DV upon seeing this thread and have regained a little more boost through the revs, according to vag-com.

im going to order mine tomorrow so hopefully i will get full boost back and get rid of the problems im having ! so might have a forge 007p diverter valve for sale soon

I doubt it's the Forge Dv causing it.

17705 is very common across the vag range and there are 100's of threads about it.

I guess (like you say) put the standard valve back on and see how it goes.

I'd agree with that statement, I'd be very surprised if it was the DV.

Nick m, no dont do it

The 007P is NOT faulty

Mark has said that he believes it to be one of the common hoses that fail

But it is just getting time my dear

We are hoping to be at home this weekend and hopfully we may get time in the daylight

There is 2 hoses that do tend to go weak so we will resolve it for you

Sorry it was so long

We are only round the corner , but Mark has been away for 2 weeks

Sarah

Hi Nick

As Sarah said we are back in town on Sunday so give me a call and we will inspect it for you then.

Sorry for the delay been out of town on urgent business.

Mark

check the hose under the ilet manifold and the one on top by the fuel reg.....

i would put my hose on the fact it isnt the dump valve..

good luck mate

ive already brought a standard DV and i notice a difference straight away ! theres alot more torque and seems more pressure too . so only thing i put it down to is the forge 007p DV .

with the forge it seems it was dumping without letting of and even the skoda mechinc notice that to . went back to see him after i put the new standard one on and he took all the codes of again . going back week today to see if they have come back or not so il let you know then .

if you like to have a look mark by all means pop up sunday about 11ish to have a look , and i hope you do find something because i miss the sound of the forge .

:thumbup:Well done m8, sometimes i wonder about this forum:rolleyes: im a qualified techie so i think i know what im on about, although more on French cak:P Mate owns APS in Brackley and they have for the 3rd year running been Audi Gold award winners....they advised the 007 removal and although the OE one is weeker i would rather replace it several times than have the problems the 007 causes.

Please note though, Forge products in general are great (FMIC) its just that my car in state of tune prefers the OE one

Well I bet the error code is still there ;)

Imo the boost dumping problem is not related to the Forge dv ;)

I had 2 x forge 1 x bailey & 2 x standard dv and they were all the same on my car!

I agree Andy

Nick only lives round the corner from us , and we fitted the 007P not that long ago , only approx 2 months

Mark did have a look at the engine but it was dark and could not see an awful lot , but we have a feeling that it is one of them hoses

The problem is Mark is away just now , but he will be back for the weekend

its trail and error at the moment , not sayng its cleared the errors i find that out this friday see if theyve gone of not .

but since ive but the standard one back on ive notice a difference in power . ill keep this thread updated because i want rid of this problem and no dount most people on this forum does too .

i cant be that far of the problem if 2 people also say theyve notice an improvement by putting the standard DV back on .

Any issues with the valve we will fix it .... we have sold thousands of these valves and they are the popular choice of most tuners ..... any issues you please call us so we can help

will do sarah d-day tomorrow , fingers cross

  • Author

well didnt keep my fingers cross hard enough ! still got the same fault code after trying the new diverter valve , but got to say ive notice it pulls better with it on . so anyone got any ideas now ?

ive put a new diverter valve , and ive had the pipes chek and no holes found .

Hi Nick

Have you tried doing a search on this error code?

Noone really knows as to why this comes up

No need for serviceing the 007P as it is only a couple of months old

I would say , no issues with the 007P at all and I must have sold over a thousand of these valves and I have never heard of any issues other than wrong rating of springs

Yours as it is standard should not need anything other than the green spring as it has in to start with

i think it is something other than the valve , and it is going to be one of those where we keep looking in to it to see what we can do

I will pass this on to Mark when I see him this after and have a chat on where we are going next

I did tell you ;)

All I can say is happy reading http://briskoda.net/search/result-3726406/

It's a very common problem and there could be numbers of reason why but it's just not that simple to fix????
