New Phone

Featured Replies

I R gone and bought an Omnia off of Ebay. It was sitting at a really low price, so put a bid in and won it with maiden bid!

I got it for over £100 cheaper than retail, but there are some problems. It's locked to Orange (currently trying to unlock using internets unlock service), it's 'only' 8GB, the stylus isn't integrated into the phone's body, and it runs Windoze mobile.

I'm not quite sure what to make of the WM OS. There are menus upon menus and settings galore. Nokia Symbian S60 OS suddenly seems like a robust, faultless workhorse compared to WM.

I have sausage fingers so the stylus is essential. or at least i thought so until i discovered the on board mouse feature. Works very well and is quite cool.

I've yet to discover the full goodness of the phone. I'm trying to install SPB shell to get shiney new skins for the phone, but I'm having a nightmare trying to get the fkn thing to sync with my PC.

N95 on standby......

Hey Roy, I got mine a week back. Try Samsung Omnia - Samsung Omnia for help. I love mine, even the pokey stick. Texting is so much easier using the pokey stick and querty keyboard. As for the phone bit, it's by far the best clarity of phone I have had.

I thought Orange had theirs at 16gb? I know mine is.

ps active sync for pc connection.

cheers Andy I'll have a look at that site. I'm having trouble syncing as the SIM doesn't work until I get it unlocked, so need to get the unlock code before I can have a proper play with it.

Have you found it easy to install apps?

Have only put a temp files cleaning bit of software and a couple of proggies to run some Access files, reduced back to 1 proggie. Syncing and data transfer is a doddle, once you uncheck Menu/Settings/connections tab/usb to pc/ enable advanced network functionality. Syncs a dream after that.

great, I can't wait to use it properly. I've had a bit of a play this evening just trying to find my way round, it's quite impressive the amount of stuff they've squeezed in. And it's not as slow as I thought it would be. Start up takes an age, but once up and running it's quite rapid! You're right mate, it is a 16GB, even though it was advertised as an 8GB.
