You carefully prise it out, with a wide screw driver or similar starting at the corners where there are clips.

I see where you are going... STOP NOW!!!! lol

Here are some pics so you can see what you're dealing with. Last time I had to remove one I made some 'L'-shaped keys - hooked them behind the clips and pulled.

Note the shape of the clips.

And to hijack this slightly does anyone know how to remove the centre vent that houses the hazard light button?

same way as the other vents, small screwdriver and pull

For the centre one, I removed the hazard switch and then stuck my finger in it's hole to pull the vent out.

yep thanks guys i have done it not to hard just have to be a bit careful

I removed my drivers side vent by taking the fuse box cover off, and removing the 2 screws that hold the fuse panel in place to get behind the it. You can then just about get to at least 2 of the vent clips and pull them off. This gives you the ability to then pull the vent at an angle and it will come out easier. If you need to, you can also use a small flat screw driver to gently press down the remaining clips to free the vent out. I did this to fit a Boost gauge drivers vent. I also got a few replacement clips from the scrapy in case some broke.
