Another tyre question

Featured Replies

Am very nearly 'on the limit' on my front tyres (Fabia vRS) done some

research and on my budget fancy the Toyo Proxi TR1 tyres.

Are these still available? if not how do current derivative compare??

Any other recomendations welcome.

Cheers.:)

My recommendation is the Kuhmo Ecsta KU31, you'll probably find it cheaper than the Toyo Proxie and in my opinion the Kuhmo grips better, it's quieter and better wearing.

These are still available. Cheapest when I bought mine one month ago were tyretraders.

These are an excellent tyre with amazing grip especially in the wet. Out performs tyres twice the price, Only downside, These tyres have a reinforced side wall which is great for handling but can be a little unforgiving on a poor road surface and if you bump a kerb you really know about it!

 Thanks for the swift replies, another one that's come up

is the 'Uniroyal Rainsport' but I think they may be a tad expensive:(

I'll ring around some fitters Monday.

I have ordered Uniroyal Rainsport 2's from tyre shopper.

£89 a corner fitted

Only downside is that I was due to have them fitted yesterday only to be told they are on back order until 11th december :(

I'm sure they will be worth the wait though.

:) Cheers, that's in my budget, will ring around:thumbup:

The Kuhmos can't be all that bad as their supplied OEM on some Porsches. I've heard the Rainsports aren't all that good, Skudmissile ran them on his fabia and I don't think he liked them all that much.

Selection

or THE BEST unless you get 17's and can fit Sessanta's.

Ive got Rainsports on my roadster, they seem ok.

Pirelli nero's on the fabia, certainly a lot better than the Couriers the last owner put on.

Heard nothing but good things with the rainsports, suppose to be excellent in the wet, which given our weather is a big plus!
