Featured Replies

Hi every one , i just need a few simple information,i wont bigger engine, wich engines ( škoda and vw) can fit on my gearbox , my car is 95. felicia 1.3 whit carb.

and wich gearboxes( again skoda or vw) can be connected whit my drive shafts i was thinking gerbox from 2.0 16v from mk3 gti or smth. similar

tnx in advace , chears from croatia :)

Hi,

Check out Teflon Toms thread on his 2.0 Felicia and you wil see how much work is involved.

But basically without a lot of work all will fit is a 1.6 AEE engine and everything that goes with it.

Gearbox wise only the std Skoda box drops straight in.

Teflon needed a custom rad didnt he?

For the 2.0, along with custom manifolds, a different cylinder head, different mountings etc etc.

i know how much work is involved , i alredy have 1979 kadett c whit 2.2i engine so i know what to expect , only i need the few info, i would like to have 1.4 16v from polo, or smth whit trubo,1.8 16v kr just to get a bit more puch from my sleeper felicia , and info that i asked

hi folks, i don't reckon you'll get a mk3 2.0 16v lump in there or a 1.8kr (they are basically the same), they a far too tall..

for a quick and easy(ish) transplant i would go for a 1.4-16v from a 6n polo (afh code), then wiith a few orignal parts from a 1.6 engined felicia it will go straight in using the 1300 felicia gearbox and driveshafts. the only potential headache would be the left hand mounting which would need fettling a little because the 16v has an extra timing belt idler roller, but i'm sure you could just re-use the original one from a 1.6 felicia and just cut a notch out the corner.

tnx TTOM ,nother question , but is there any 1.6 16v or 8v engine that would fit this gearbox that produse round 100bhp, and i dont care about electronics because i will use carbs because I have LPG on karb and i dont like the extra wires :D

btw

can vw AEK, AFT/AKS engine code(they are 1.6L) fit my gearbox

Edited by TheBIG

there is a 1.6 16v from a mk4 golf, codes aus/atn that is virtually the same as the 1.4 16v but it has a slightly different cylinder head with overhead roller rockers, it could be possible to fit one of these but you would need to alter the ignition system slightly as these don't have a distributor

yeah the aek/aft/aks will fit a skoda gearbox but you need the bellhouse adaptor, clutch and flywheel from a felicia diesel, basically those engines are the same physical size as the 2.0 lump i'm shoehorning in mine, so not to put to fine a point on it, DONT BOTHER unless you want an absolute balls-ache job, also those engines wont be suitable for carb conversion because they don't have a distributor, so you would have to figure out a way of sparking it reliably too.. don't be scared of extra wires, fuel injection is the way forward tbh...

i know this might not be what you want to hear, if all you are after is a bigger engine why not just buy an old golf vr6 or something, you can pick them up for peanuts on ebay

i wont big engine in felicia, i alredy have a fast car (kadett 2.2 eats vr6 for breakfast :) )

tnx for this valuable information , i put pics as soon as I start my project

tnx one more

Seeing as the felicia is quite light, would a bike engine work in it?

Well, in PPC a few months back, someone'd got a Fireplace engine into a Polo as an FE-RWD conversion.

And with apologies for the slightly o/Tness, TheBIG; why was the 2.2l engine in the Kadett such an issue? If I've got the right Kadett, Opel did a 2.0le version (GT/e), and the 2.2l was just a bored and stroked version of that.

nope, gte was coupe with 2.0 105bhp(k-jetronic), but the is only one gte in croatia an it's not for sale :) so i have 2door sedane that was 1.2s , now it 2.2i (l-jetronic) round 130bhp whit some tweeking :D

Ah, I did get the right version. The 2.0l with K-Jetronic went into that shell like it was made, as long as you got the crossmember and gearbox mount from a 1.9 Manta A.

There were some other conversions on that shell (or the Vauxhall Chevette) that had to be seen to be believed - 2.0l Lotus 16v 4 with twin Dell'orto 48s, 2.3l Vauxhall 8v slant 4 with Dell'ortos or Webers (and that could stroke to 2.6l) and I know one bloke who got a Rover 3.5l V8 into one (just; the exhaust manifolds had to be welded up after the header plates were mated to the heads).

not realy , i have custom engine mounts , custom exhaust, custum radiator, engine and brake servo and brakes(ve-disks) from Vauxhall Carlton2.2 (opel rekord 2.2), dear diff from kadettc 1.2 whit ratio 1:3.920 ,and rear brakes from manta B, its not all like plug n play it is quite difficult

end my friend has one whit c20xe (redtop) , he has more hp, diff from manta B and gerbox from manta B 1.8 (ohc engine) , but he is slower then me

my top speed is 210kph=125mph , but 0-60mph in 7.2sec

that's a bog standard 2.2 lump you could get in a carlton in the uk by the looks of it

hehe, back on topic , what brakes can be fitted , i heard corado g60 are a fit whitout modification , is that true ?

no.

to fit G60's you need a center ring to space it out, because the bore is differant.

and the G60 calliper is a no-go to, trust me i've tryed.

on the back you could fit MK2 golf GTI stub axles and discs with calipers, but you'll need to figure out the line connecters.
