ABS and ASR gremlins

Featured Replies

Was driving down the motorway last night doing about 60 when I had a nice surprise.

I got the piercing noise the Fabia gives followed by the ASR and ABS lights lit and the handbrake light flashing. Dived into the inside, and pulled off at the next junction. Turned the engine off at the traffic lights and the handbrake light disappeared, but the ASR and ABS lights remained on. Pulled in down the road to read the manual and this time the lights were all off when I started but the ASR and ABS reappeared about 2 minutes later.

Going to get into the dealer but what is the betting- faulty wheel sensor, or something more expensive? Car also needs an MOT in about a week so it is a great time for a fault that needs to be fixed!

I had that a few month ago and it turned out to be a fault on the ABS module (in the ECU) had mine reset and it hasn't turned up since

newb ere, whats ASR ?

Anti-Slip Regulation, or traction control.

Hope it isn't too expensive a fix- needs an MOT too, which it wouldn't pass with it and at Christmas spending that money ain't welcome.
