Changed Battery now got EPC and Management Light

Featured Replies

I changed my wifes Fabia Battery this morning. Everything seems to be fine .....except the EPC and the Engine Management light have both come on and stay on. Do I need to reset something or have I blown a fuse somewhere?:(

That's normal IME. You will need to get someone with VAG-COM or a garage to clear the code for you, but nothing else should be required...

You may need to reset one touch closing if your car has electric windows, enter the radio code, and set the clock. Plus any stored multi-function indicator data, eg mpg, will have been lost.

Strangely I had this combination of lights and solved it by changing the breather pipe, air filter, oil change + flush as it was showing EGR problem due to clotted cream in the breather pipe. Might be worth seeing if popping off the breather pipe shows gunk?

Mike

Did you disconnect the battery before charging?

New Fabia II and a battery problem?

My guess this is an older car :-)

Thanks guys. I got a new battery and my (excellent) regular mechanic reset the VAG thingy, it's all good now.
