Either with the DSG ( keep in D and push lever towards passenger side), then at 30mph select 6th) or choose 6th if you have the 6speed manual trany.

What's your 30 to 50 mph in 6th gear?

I reckon this may be a good test for turbo boost.....

Personally I'd say f*ck that, slam it in 2nd and bugger off with a 30-50 of about 1 second

I've done runs 50mph to 90mph in 6th in my vRS TDI and the transmission & DMF were certainly grumbling with full throttle (torque) until I was doing 60-65mph. I'm not aiming to repeat the process anytime soon.

IMHO 30 - 50mph is a bit of a tall order.

I notice the OP doesn't appear to have done it either. :confused:

If you want useful acceleration then be nice to your engine and drivetrain (by selecting an appropriate gear) and it will be nice to you.

Hmmm i think it would be quite slow considering you wouldnt be anywhere near peak torque or even on boost by the time you hit 50

Well I'm game for a laugh! Did it today purely unscientifically timed on my trusty Casio - 8.4 seconds! Think I'll stick to the lower gears next time
