Fabia Problems

Featured Replies

Since I bought my Fabia from a dealer about a month ago I have had various problems.

My immobiliser light randomly appears when I try to start the car and stops it from starting. Probably the sensor as both keys don't work when this happens. Also the ignition is differant from the door keys.

The common flickering lights/ power steering angle sensor problem.

Temp gauge doesn't really stick in the middle usually to the left probably just the weather or maybe completely stopped working.

Brakes squeal.

Dodgy crackling coming from the dash only happens when moving or when moving steering wheel.

I have 4 months main component warranty. I have spoken to him and he says he will research the immobiliser and flickering lights problem but hasn't got back to me. Part of the deal was that he serviced it for me which im not sure that he did since the brakes squeal.

Apart from all that I am happy with the car since its my first but I want to know what I can do about it??

1) reader coil for the immobilizer. The fact that the ignition is different from the door keys could well mean someone has already changed the ignition lock.

2) Might not be the PAS sensor, this is also a sign of a fading battery.

3) More than likely a faulty temp sender or thermostat, get them to replce the complete housing that comes with a new sender anyhow.

4) Could be either the centre mounting behind the vents or the cash bar mountings need tightening.
