Am I right in saying that the later VRS's came with a central 3rd point belt? Can you retro fit these to an earlier car?

You can retrofit, you would need that seat section from a latter vRS and the buckle.

The Bohemia estate i have has a 3rd rear 3 point belt

I might be wrong, but I think that 3 3 point seatbelts in the rear was mandatory on new cars sold in the UK from about 2004 or 2005 onwards.
