Oh my god!

As you have probably read my other thread about resale values, I have a confession to make I am in love with a new breed of vehicle. I really fancy an american pick up truck. The ford f150 svt lightning, 385bhp, 150mph, 0-60 5.3 sec.

How hot is that truck? And only

:heartbeat mmmmmmm 8.3 litres.... mmmmmm

8.3l suppose it has to be that big to pull the petrol tanker behind it ;)

Got to be the Dodge as the other is ...... well a Ford and the Dodge looks fantastic IMHO. Only thing with both of these are they are great for straight lines only and a corner into the equation and it's bye bye

why don't we get them here?

I can only point to the thirst that these things have as a major factor. Single figure MPG not unheard of if you drive it like an vRS....

But we do get them here.......I've seen about a dozen different F150 Lightnings around Manchester, and more than one of those humongous Hummer H2's.....

Easily obtainable from Bauer Millet, who have a dealership in Manchester..

(When are are coming to place your order....? :D

There was a stand at this years motorshow with these monsters on. The company also sold them right hand drive.

The Dodge is particularly awe inspiring, there's a black one driven around Sheffield by none other than Phil Oakey ex-Human League. A known petrolhead :D

I've got a friend who lives near Detroit. Her husband works for DaimlerChrysler, and drives a Dodge Ram -only the little 5.4 litre, though! With employee discount it cost him about

You can also get a dodge ram hemi now which i think is around 5.4 litres. But i really am speechless by this, ive seen a good few f150 lightning round town too, there quite a few on ebay Uk which is cool so theres certainly no shortage and wouldnt have to go through the trouble of shipping one over.

At 23 i very much doubt id get insured on one of these things, however given it a few years and we will see (hopefully).

And how much will fuel cost by then?! Even LPG will probably have gone up quite a bit by then too...

Rob.

If things had gone as planned I could've been doing a 6 month stint in the US now but alas things changed.

I remember chatting to one of the engineers when I was out there and he was showing me around his truck (I think it was a GMC one). Anyway, I said that if I did get seconded I'd have to sort myself out with a truck (secret red-neck) and fancied the Dodge Ram. He scoffed at this saying it was cr4p on 'gas' only getting 14 mpg

"What you want is one like mine" he said. "I get 16 mpg all day long" double  and he genuinely thought that was a 'big' improvement. Oh how I laughed.

BTW Mike if you do get an F150 can I have first dabs on your ABD and Carbonio bolt on bits ;)

Ah Rob never thought of an lpg conversion! I only intend to drive it on weekends, willbe driving a 1.0 micra through the week, and may be going in RAF if im lucky so will not be driving it for long periods.

Jimmy I thought you had those bits already fitted?
