ABS Failed - vRS with no driver aids = Fun

Featured Replies

After some spirited driving lastnight, i went into wind-down mode, driving carefully etc

Randomly, ABS Light came on (on an urban 30mph road), followed by ESP and TPM - I stopped and turned car off then restarted - ABS Light on only, until i started rolling, then all 3 on again

Had a quick squiz in the Book, and find that ESP and TPM are all influenced/integrated into ABS, hence why they are coming on after pulling on - so it must definitely be an ABS fault

Also, book says a major failure in the ABS system will result in 3 warning chimes, which i haven't had - yet...

So, apart from the fact i have now found out that the vRS can hold its own at pace without any driver aids, i have yet another issue to be sorted...

Has anyone else had their ABS fail? Or any ideas as to why the system would have fallen over?

I'll be trying to book it in for a look this week whatever, can't be doing without any of the features over the christmas period...

Have you thought about giving Skoda Assistance (RAC) a call? If not, you ought to, there maybe a serious fault!

it might be worth plugging vag com in and just checking its been enabled (and hasnt disabled its self) . if it seems fine there i would just re tick the options and see if that solves it as mine did this after we first tried to install maxidot (as well as loss of cruise control) a quick visit into the system with vag com and an untick and re tick on various things solved it.

I would clean the wires going the the break pads firstly and make sure they have good contacts.

I have this same stupid problem. The ASR light (orange traction control light) keeps coming on just above the engine management light on dash. Same light you can push on dash next to rear heated window and fuel cap release.

It is an air sensor leak of all things and is making the car idle erratically and misfires. I'm getting the new pipe in the next day or so and will let you know if it stops this light coming on.

Had it checked over today

Appears an ABS Sensor had gone down - so parts have been ordered to have it repaired
