my gearbox leak oil :(

what is the possible causes to be??

it's 97 feli glx with 1.3L carb

where is it leaking from??

3 possible places that spring to mind are the 2 driveshaft oil seals, and the selector shaft seal.. or if you are very unlucky it's leaking from where the two halves of the casing join together

it is leak somewhere low

might be coming out of the drain plug possibly??

Probably selector shaft seal. Is this the same box as used in older polo's if so then this is common and easy to fix.

i must admit admit they are similar in apperance to the old 084 vw units, but they are totally different

2.5 litres

is there any saeling to be regualary changed or at least checked?

no not really, the sealing between the two halves should last the life of the car, but if it is leaking just throw the whole gearbox in the bin and get another one, it's too much balls-ache to split it just to re-seal it
