Fabia power steering groups?

Featured Replies

What means what in groups? I have problem whit powersteering assistant. I think it is ON in picture, but angle sensor won't shown anything if I turn steeringwheel? There is fault 00566 on and I can't get it off. I think if angle changes PAS start working? there is no warning light in dash. Do I haft to calibrate sensor?

Can anyone help this member?

I got these from the same measuring blocks a while back slighty better descriptions on them.

Group 001: Electrical System

14.17 V Voltage (Terminal 30)

3.0 A Pump Motor Voltage

22.0°C Control Module Temperature

ON Pump Motor Status

Group 002: Steering

0.0°/s Steer. Aid Sensor Angular Velocity

1178 /min Pump Motor Speed (specified)

1178 /min Pump Motor Speed (actual)

3.0 A Pump Motor Voltage

Group 004

1004 h Power Steering Activation Time

533 Power Steering Activation Counter

Too Low Steer. Aid Sensor Reference Voltage

14.09 V Voltage (Terminal 15)

As for the fault code look here Fault Code 00566

I don't think the sensor needs to be calibrated.

If field 1 in group 2 doesnt move when you turn the steering wheel id say you have a sensor issue.

It looks as though the pump isn't working at all. Blocks 3 & 4 of group 002 show nothing, where I would expect to see something. I assume that the engine is running (by the voltage shown in block 4 of group 004) and that you are turning the steering wheel.

I would check the power supply to the pump first.

The old copy of VAG-COM thatyou are using does not have the label files required for the module. Please notice the note: "Label File: None".

Newer versions of VCDS (VAG-COM) most likely do support the module - but without an autoscan, I am unable to look it up and confirm that for you.

Remember, versions 311 and 409 are more than 4 years old now. A large amount of development has occured during those 4 years - label files among the development. Today, VCDS supports over 12,000 DTCs where the 4 year old stuff supported 5000-6000 DTCs. The label files have been expanded tremendously to cover more and more modules.

Thank you for answers. I badly scary that pump is end off its road. I have changed one transistor in circuit board but it only work like 2 hour. But i also think that if I turn the wheel angle sensor angle should change?

Yes it should change, but you are reading data from the power steering controller which is an integral part of the pump. If the pump/controller is known to be bad or very suspect, you will have to replace it.

My wife say one day that when she start to reverse car in parking place, she hear strange noise and steering were very light. Then when she start to move forward steering is not ligtn anymore.

I think the PAS is not totally dead but i dont know where to start find fault. Pump costs so much that we try to find cheaper solution. Maybe change the sensor becouse there has been flashing lights and powersteering light in dash sometimes before this..
