I'm looking at upping sticks and disapperaring around the world for a couple of years as it is something I have always wanted to do and am in a position to do it.

My question is how much would I be looking at getting for my beloved Octavia to fund me on my little way?

It's a 2001 Octavia Elegance 1.8T with 35000 miles on the clock, FSH and 10 months MOT. 2 tyres are brand new and all are very legal, totally umarked interior and perfect outside apart from where someone decided to run into my front end when I was parked so 1 of the Headlamp washers are missing.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Antony, why not go into a newsagent and take a free peek at prices in Parker's Car Price Guide and the other similar guide whose name escapes me. Also do a search on Autotrader Interactive for cars of a similar age to yours. Take the high prices with a pinch of salt.

PS: Having just followed my advice about Autotrader I have drawn a blank! Plenty of 4X4s and vRSesses but no 2001 1.8Ts. :(
