Can anyone help with this part number?

Featured Replies

My son had £2000 of damage to his vrs due to vandalism in Leeds. He/we are only paying £600 for vital repairs and to make it safe. It has now been returned and he has come home. A part he left in the car and told the garage had come off from under the car is a black plastic protector. It looks like it may have held/protected some cables as there look to be channels/clips in it. Anyway, they didn't put it back on (it is a little damaged) and before I phone on Monday I would like to find out what it is so I can speak from a 'strength' position. If it hasn't been replaced with a new one, perhaps it's potentially dangerous.

The part number is: 6QO 201 469.

I've looked at the Fabia-vrs.com at the Handy Parts but can't see it - because it's not a common part.:o

If anyone can identity it that would be useful.

Sounds like just the engine cover - nothing that is necessary. I don't even have one on mine. :) Does it look a little like the below but with "TDI" on it?

Actually I think it probably isn't this now. :o

OK - I found the part and a picture. It is something to do with the fuel feed from/to the fuel tank under the car, probably covering the end of one side of the fuel cooler which is on the underside of the car, directly below the driver's seat. :)

Thanks for trying. It was from under the car when it was shoved by a large vehicle, deliberately and slowly over a high curb into a fence. The fuel pipes and fuel cooler had to be replaced. It is an irregular shape with length 17 cm. I will try to scan it and show a picture.

Please see post #4 ;)

Thanks, that's it - must have missed the post before. I've got the part scanned but I don't think I can directly attach an image to this forum.

EDIT: Looking at the schematic, perhaps when they replaced the fuel cooler they would have had to fit this as a new part. I must read posts more carefully, as you have said what it covers - trying to do too many things at once - well that's my excuse;)

Thanks again.
