2003 Fabia 1.9tdi service intervals

Featured Replies

Hi, I recently bought a 1.9tdi Fabia on an 03 - for years I have driven various petrol cars, and always changed the oil every 6 months.

Would like to do the same with the fabia. I drive about 6k miles a year. However, I have been lead to believe that my car may have a variable service setting. Meaning I wouldn't need to change the oil routinely.

Is there a way of checking whether my car is on variable service? Plus, what would happen if I did a DIY oil change every 6 months? Of course would use the correct oil.

(Sorry, would have posted in the ask a tech section, but dont seem to have the clearance)

Cheers

I don't think any of the Fabia's can be put on variable service. The vRS is fixed at 12 months/10K and I assume it would be the same for the other 1.9 TDi's.

My 2006 1.9 TDI is on variable servicing.

In your service book or in the boot under the carpet is a "details" sticker with all the specs on your car.

In the lower left is a code for servicing. QG0 is fixed intervals, QG1 is variable servicing.

Your skoda dealer is able to change service intervals from variable to fixed if you want.

If you are the UK then the Fabia doesnt run variable.
