no alternator light?? skoda felicia 1.3 (2000)

Featured Replies

about a week ago, my alternator light came on while i was driving at night, then the car died, i pulled it into the side, and about an hour and a half later was enough power to get home. took battery out, charged it and tried again, was enough power to drive to local shops and back for about a day, then it died again. charged battery again took my radio out incase that was causin problem, it wasnt as it died on me again!

i now have a different battery in to figure out if its the battery or alternator causing the problem. my alternator light hasnt been seen since the fist time the car died on me. any suggestions? also airbag light is on constant.

It may be the voltage regulator on the alternator that has failed this can cause all sorts of problems including setting off the airbag warning light.

The air bag light needs hooking up to a computer using a VAG Com to turn it off (after any charging problems are sorted) . A garage will charge you for this but you may be lucky to find a forum member local to you with the necessary equipment to do it.
