Couple of niggles!

Featured Replies

Got a couple of niggles with the fabia, but there one o those hit or miss things so just thought id run it by all of you, see if anyne else has had it happen with their vrs.

Sometimes when i start it from cold, theres a noticeable ticking noise, deff not an engine knock, it sounds like injectors, but it eventully goes away. I know you get a ticking off the injectors but this is louder than it should be sometimes, thinking it might be a sticking injector, but how would explaing that to the dealer that it only happens sometimes, and from cold ( dealers 15 miles from me so it wont be cold ). Its under warranty till february but the chances of it doing it when a mechanic starts it will be slim?

2nd one is after ive been in the car for a couple of hours, on a long run, the needles on the cluster sometimes flicker for say 10 seconds then back to normal. Always happens when u go a drive longer than 2 or 3 hours, doesnt affect anything else just the needles? The headlights flicker aswell sometimes, but its more common and you dont have to by driving for ages to make that happen. Problm with the lights is i have hid's fitted, which isnt causing the flickering becauseit did it before, but obv for warranty purposes id imagine they would side swerve fixing it?

Cheers for any help

leave the car for an overnight old start test if you can , but i'm sure it wil be normal noise

needles problem , dunno , sorry

yea thought about leaving it overnight but it only sometimes does it, rarely! I put asda diesel in it and it was doing it every day, then my mate whos a transit mechanic said asda fuels caused loads of problems with vans theve had in so brimmed it with ultimate diesel and it seems to have stopped, strange. Wouldnt have thought asda diesel would be bad, but hard to tell!
