New Kenwood KFC-1769S Speakers

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have just fitted the above to replace my OEM Octy vRS front speakers. I still have the Symphony head unit. Problem is it doesnt sound much better (especially the base) than the OEM speakers. Firstly have I bought crap speakers, I thought the Kenwoods would be pretty good, Secondally have I done something daft when I have wired them up.

I cut the original connectors off, joined spade connectors on a connected them up. (I paired together the wires for the OEM tweeters in each spade connector). Is this correct. I wired as follows:-

Drivers side:

BLUE/WHITE = +

BROWN/WHITE = -

Passenger side:

RED = +

BROWN/RED = -

Regards

Gary

Check you haven't got them out of phase.

Fade to the front then shift the balance to the left so only one speaker is playing then move the balance back to the centre.

As the second speaker comes in you should hear the bass increase noticably , as they are a lot better than the standard fit ones.

If the wiring is as above then they shouldn't be out of phase should they? or is it worth swapping them around?

If you are 100% certain you got them both right then they shouldn't be out of phase but it only takes a minute to check so its worth doing.
