hello everyone, new to this. felicia starting problems

Featured Replies

hello i have a 2000 1.3 felicia lxi (i think) theres no distributer or ht leads, only a black box thingy in right hand side (looking into engine>ecu?) and skinny wires leading to the long sparkplug cap, which does the four plugs at once..sometimes when starting (seems to be when its really cold outside) it starts first time then a second later cuts out, if i try to start it again straight away it has no intentions of starting but if i leave it for a minute its back to square one were it starts then dies a second later. after doing this for about eight times i give up and take wifes car. then next day it could probaly start first time. when it is running it runs sweet, no problems. forgot to mention it has a carb...can someone please help....many thanks:confused:

Are you sure it has a carb? They do exist but if it's a UK car (and a 2000 to boot) it probably has injection of one sort or another.
