Alarm problem - 2008 Octavia vRS

Featured Replies

I've just been driving my car happily, everything running smoothly, A roads, B roads and dual carriageways. After 26 mins of driving, I turned in to my estate to make my way home and the alarm started going off.

The car continued to drive perfectly fine but I decided to stop and turn the engine off. As soon as I did the alarm stopped sounding, so I restarted the engine and continued my journey.

Has this happened to anyone before? It seems odd that it should randomly start sounding whilst driving. Could it just be to do with the cold weather? I have a 2 hour journey to make on new years day and can't be stopping on the motorway in order to stop the alarm sounding.

happened on my '05 Elegance 2.0 Tdi.... kept on happening........ so they replaced the whole alarm under warranty....... good luck! just get it changed!!!!

I had this once in my works Mondy when I went to the new(ish) retail Park in Aylesbury.

It was common I was told, and a complaint of many visitors there. My alarm acted up for days afterwards, and remote locking worked occasionally.
