2 weeks ago, a taxi driver was in a bad accident on the motorway.

He had bought a brand new 53 reg Octavia Classic in December last year. As you will all now over the past few weeks there was some very heavy rain. Travelling back from somewhere down the motorway the back of the car skidded and the whole car did a 360 through the crash barrier and into a field. He got some bruises and a few burns from the air bags when they burst out and apparently the rear axle had snapped which caused him to skid. The car is a write off so he should be getting a new one soon. The bonnet was crumpled and the reg plate was knocked off, and the rear passenger door on the drivers side got quite a bit of damage, as well as the wing around the fuel cap.

Would this be a taxi driver called Tam ?

No, but one called Tam did crash a couple of years ago

Part of the rear axle beam snapped off? That's a pretty massive failure on the Octavia. I would have thought it more likely that a rear axle failure was due to a collision with something solid after the car skidded, rather than vice versa. :shocked:

Maybe it did snap after the collision. I can't remember who but someone said it snapped, but they didn't say when, but the driver said himself there is a lot of damage to the underneath
