New Year MMS messages

Featured Replies

I know the SMS system falls over every year, so as usual opted to send via MMS. Always done it, only this was my first year on T-Mobile.

Message said sending not possible, network busy so left it to retry around 12.30 this morning....

Awoken by sister, very irate, at 8am. She'd received the same message over 200 times! Infact they had to purge the system to stop the THOUSANDS of them. Last count, my online account shows 6000+ messages and a very large bill until they refund me.

Next year I'm sending emails!

hahahahahaha Goober! why didn't you send them at 5PM like every sensible person?

Whoops!

Strangely, this year I found it the easiest it's been since I can remember. Was able to call people from about 0002 and sent text messages OK. They seemed to be delivered quite quickly as I got replies back, although I'm on O2 who don't support SMS read receipts.

Serves you right for trying to be too clever! ;) :P

Meh, always worked fine on Orange.

Cant send at 5pm, far too early!

the messages ive sent on nye seemed to be a bit quicker than normal nye nights, maybe the networks were better prepared or just the fact not as many people were sending them this year?

I don't bother sending them at all. Everyones ****ed and at the end of the day, it's only another day isn't it?

That's quite a pessimistic way of looking at it! It's like saying your birthday is just another day, so why bother with messages, cards and presents :)
