Parked the car in my usual spot today, as I have done literally hundreds of times before - nose up nice and tight to the wall...near side wheels just a couple of inches from that (very) low level wall so I've got plenty of space on my side...what the...!! who moved the wall??

oops , looks like a slight misjudgement has totally wrecked the appearance of my front near side alloy :(. Just brushed the low wall, but it's built of those rough rustic-type bricks and it's done a very good job of ruining about a quarter of the surface of the wheel - kerbing rib on the tyre didn't help much :thumbdwn: (makes it look as if the wife's been driving ).

So, does anyone know where I can get a new rim at lower cost than one of SUK's finest will charge me?

The rim is a 17" X-tended (I'm not even going to ask if anyone has a spare one...)

If it was a real low-speed scrape it would be easier to refurb it. £50 is a usual price, but you might have to leave it with a place for a week or so, so will need to run round on the spare wheel.

Yeah, I agree with Jason - it'll certainly be cheaper (and easier) than trying to find a new wheel!

Sounds like a refurb job as you don't see many of those wheels about on the road let alone in any classifieds or on Ebay............or it's time to get some aftermarket rims............

I've checked ebay - nothing doing - and I've got the details of a local refurb company, so I'll get a quote from them. If I go that route, then I'll get some before and after pics.

EDIT: just got a price from a stealer - £167.58 plus VAT :eek:

not too surprising though I suppose. However, the price in the accessory brochure (from 2006) that provided the picture I posted is £133. Some increase :thumbdwn:
