Wiper problem

Featured Replies

Hi All

The wifes x plate fabia has been working loverly until today. When she puts the front wipers on nothing happens. Tried the single sweep setting and tried to wash the screen and nothing except when you try to wash the front screen the rear wiper goes. I have checked the fuse and all ok.

Am I looking at one of those expensive steering wheel control units? guess the air bag need to come off to replace it.

Any advise would be great

Glenn

fuse no15, probably not the one you've checked  theres a sticky at the top of the page

Are you sure you are checking the right fuse? There are 2 for the wipers, number 15 is the one you need to replace (10 amp). The same has happened to me this week, including the rear going when I was trying to wash the screen. Was cured with a trip to Halfords for a pack of fuses.

Thanks. I have just been out and as there seems to be no numbers of the fuse box or the back of the cover so I have remove all the mini 10amp fuses and they all seem ok. How can you tell if a mini 1 has gone as you don't see the inside like a larger fuse.

There are numbers on mine, but you have to look really close up to see them, maybe with a torch? In your Manual there is a list of numbers and locations.

There should be a fusebox diagram in your owners manual. That should tell you what's what.

Edit: I'm too slow!!!!

Thanks all. I have just done a search on the forum and some nice person has put a diagram on there :) It was the fuse although it does not look blown. Have pinched the interior light fuse for now until I get to expensive halfords lol. Cheers all

The exact same thing happened to me yesterday and like you I posted a topic about it lol

I checked fuse number 40 like it said in the manual only to be told it was fuse number 15 ! the manual is confusing

I used the interior light fuse aswell which I have now replaced, 10amp mini blade fuses have been like rocking horse **** to find in my local town :thumbdwn:

Fuses 32, 41 and 15 all go the wash wipe area and on page 210 of my handbook there is a nice diagram of the box .(manuel 2004 )

I was the same when mine did it. I took it to the stealers and looked like a right t**t. "Ive checked the fuse" i said. But the wrong one.

I think F15 is listed for headlight washers and windscreen wipers. It's confusing.
