CDR/Ws with Bog standard HU & CD Changer

Featured Replies

Anyone had any sucess in getting their factory fitted bog standard CD changer to recognise CDR/W disks (not MP3 ones just plain CDA)?

I've tried a couple of different discs and the HU just displays "SURFACE".

CDR disks on the otherhand work perfectly

I never tried CDRW disks in the oem changer only CDR's and as you say they work perfectly. CDRW disks dont play in my replacement setup of blaupunkt cdc-a08 changer, they play fine in my dab52 headunit though.

CD-R's work, CD-RW's dont on most standard cd players. I got a cd/ mp3 HU in mine..... you can use whichever discs you like! :)

Think it's to do with finishing off the disk, ie when a CDR disc is burnt the computer finalizes the disc? and on a CDR/W it dosen't?

 I'm sure some one will tell us if this is a load of ****ocks!

More to do with power/wave length of the laser than if the session is open or closed :D
