Just considering whether to go for the extra

Nope dont bother.

Get yourself a MP3 headunit instead. The standard headunit isnt really up to the job. Then bang about 15 albums onto one CD, who needs an auto changer.

No.

For that price you can get a much better quality head unit and cd changer to replace the factory piece of tat.

I reckon you should consider choosing your own replacement head unit... I got a cd/mp3 HU and can store 10/11 albums worth of mp3's onto one disc. Couldn't be bothered with all the work of a cd changer install. Plus whenever I sell the car, I put the old one back in!

I echo Ross' sentiments! MP3 is the way forward and with a better quality HU the sound will be much improved. (and you can consider every CD-R in the car as your own personal autochanger ;)) This was before I fitted the fascia...

That's great, thanks for the prompt replies.

Is there a need to, or has anyone upgraded their speakers, or are the standard Skoda ones OK? I dont want a Clio/Nova boom box drain pipe in the boot, but I would be wanting good audio.

They are 'OK' sound alot better with the upgraded headunit.

But quite a few upgrde when they have the time/money. There are worse std speakers around.

The fabia ones are "ok" - not bad for standard... no harm in upgrading (says he who is selling a pair of 6x9 speakers in a fabia parcel shelf ;)) shameless plug! :D

Fantastic, thanks for your advice. I now know what to do about ICE, any comments on Xenons in my other thread?
