Drivers Door carrier now Leaking !!!

Featured Replies

Well,

After sealing my rear Door carriers a few weeks ago, I thought all was well....

Until i washed the car today & opened the drivers door to wipe arround the Sills & there it was  Water ontop of the Rubber Door Seal..

So straight to work with the Silicone before the rain comes :D The Blinkin Fronts are far more awkward than the rears, Especially removing the two pieces of plastic that consist of the Arm rest & Switch gear, Took me almost as long to get the bit with the Switches out as it did to do the Whole job !!!

I will tackle the passenger side front at some point in the near future seeing as it is not yet leaking !!! Now i've gone & done it !! It will leak now !!!

well, the one i sealed the other week, my o/s/r is now leaking after being fine for about 2 weeks

my n/s/r was sealed when i had my cambelt done and pretty much still leaked from that being done, ive sealed that again myself (in a far messier fashion than what the garage had done lol) and touch wood that side is ok for now

I found my rear's leaking after only owning the car a week. Spoke to the Skoda garage and they are taking a look at it next week. Best be covered by my warranty!

I did all mine last Spring.

All have held up except for the drivers front door, which needs doing again.

My car went back to the garage 5 times to get this sorted, thankfully under warranty. It is a notorious fault:mad:

I must admit, that this fault is one the really gets on my case.

This has been apparent for years & still Skoda released cars with the same Sponge like carrier seals.

& as for the Misting up !!! Well you only have to show it some sunlight & then the Temp to drop !! & once misted inside they have to be one of the slowest cars ever to demist, It really is a shame as it puts a grey mark on an otherwise cracking motor ...
