Featured Replies

OK - now i have cleaned the car I have taken some proper pics using a camera and not a phone !!! the images are way better than my first attempts as they actually show a true representation of the colour (satin grey). One pic also clearly shows the twindoor spoiler for those of you who were asking....

Looks great. Definitely the best dash insert / leather colour / carpet colour combo. Goes well with the paint too. Very nice.

Much better picks showing the colour, i wasn't too keen on the first ones, but these look nice.

Interesting that when you order ivory/cream leather with black carpet you still get cream carpet by your feet on the tunnel and a cream footrest.

Hope you don't regret the interior colour choice in 3+ years time, i loved my cream leather in my E30 M3, but it was a nightmare to keep clean so would never consider it on another car (also had silver leather in my E36, which was almost as bad),

time will tell. we are brave as we have a 5yr old and 2yr old. There again i am sure we had the same amount of dirt in the last car with black cloth seats - its just that you cant see it and it gets ingrained into the cloth. at least with cream leather it looks a mess so you clean it. I got the leather gardX treatment done which should help and i have some soft cloths and spray bottle in the boot !!!

I have slready had to clean the corner of the drivers seat twice this week - i seem to catch my heel on it as i get in and leave black rubber marks from the sole of my shoe !!

very observant on the foot rest - i hadnt noticed that. how stupid. there again its plastic so should wipe clean easily.

Does look very nice

Hope you can keep it that clean :D

Looks nice. Since you've cleaned it can we assume you are happy with it now?

getting more used to it - still dealing with the vibration issue. looks like i might have two dodgy tyres (egg shaped causing a vibration). just having some "discussions" (possibly arguments !) with skoda UK and my local dealer about getting them replaced. they have refused a warranty claim due to me down grading from the 18" wheels. I politely told them that this was a load of bol?ocks and they are skoda supplied parts. i mentioned things like "fit for purpose" and "rejecting the car" and have left it with them to contemplate !!!!

Hows the MPG working out on it?

The fact you downgraded the wheels is irrelevant, if the tyres are faulty they are faulty. They cant then say that becuase of a choice you made they wont honor the warranty!

Are they saying that the fact you chose different wheels and they allowed you to do it the cars warranty is now void?

If any of the choices you made that they allowed you to make, ie they accepted to fit different equipment to the new car then they would have had to warn you and make you sign a disclaimer if any of these parts, or any other parts on the car, would now no longer be under warranty.

It is ridiculous.

Have you had the tyres independantly verified?

That would be the next step if they won't move on their silly position.

PS I would not drive the car at all in the meantime as it could be dangerous.

everything you say is correct. The supplying dealer agrees and is dumbfounded at the attitude of SUK. My local dealer, to be fair, are stuck as they have phoned warranty and they have siad a claim woudl be rejected. I am having dialogue with customer services at the moment and have told them their attitude stinks. for the sake of £200 they are prepared to alienate a new customer. I told them i wished i had bought an Audi as i got good treatment from them !! i also said i would speak to trading standards as the tyres are not fit for purpose. They told me to go to kwik fit and get some new tyres then write to pirelli and and claim against them. I poilitely told them to sod off - my contract is with skoda. If skoda want to take the issue up with pirelli then fine but its not for me to do that.

I am prepared to take this all the way yo rejection based on fitness for purpose. tyres should be round and they are not, end of story.

Welcome to Skodaworld mate.

I bet the tyres are ok, it's probably the alloys that aren't true.
