Ebay Passenger Side Heated Mirror Glass or Genuine Skoda part?

Featured Replies

Hi all, had the flasher unit break in my passenger mirror some months back.

Replaced the flasher, but while i was trying to remove the glass i cracked it straight down the middle.

Now i've been looking on ebay at heated mirror replacements at £14 SKODA OCTAVIA MK2 L/H ELECTRIC HEATED DOOR MIRROR GLASS on eBay, also, Skoda, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 30-Jan-09 13:37:15 GMT), but upon asking Skoda for a genuine part its £44!

I cant justify spending that much on a heated glass, was only £20+ for a geniune heated mirror for a clio!

Now i like things to be done correctly, and usually have things matching.

Has anyone fitted a replacement heated mirror glass from ebay?

Also how do they compare to a genuine item, would the convex be of the same angle or would it throw everything out compared to the genuine part?

P.S if no one hasn't noticed yet, im a tight git!

When I was looking for a replacement glass for my Fabia mk1, the cheap ebay ones were not heated or convex - just flat and simply stuck down over the broken original glass. Whereas the genuine part was a real repalcement part - convex, heated and had the proper fittings on the rear. Worth checking.

Having said that the part on ebay is listed as OEM. So buy it.

Ad states OEM, which means it's produced by a company for Skoda. You should have no probs.

Doesn't mentioned it's heated. Best ask seller.
