Strange headlight!

Hi all!

I'm new to this forum.

I have a Skoda Fabia 1.9 TDI and today i had a strange headlight problem.

Yesterday the headlight worked fine, and this morning i started the car up, turned the headlights on, but nothing happend. After work i checked out the light bulbs, but all good, same with the fuse. After i took the bulbs out, and refitted, i turned it on again, and the drivers side come on. Turned it off, and on again, than the drivers side come on for a sec. than just faded out, and nothing. Both headlights are out, and everything is seems to be normal.

I searched the forums, and elsewhere, but heavn't fined any similiar problems.

Anybody had this problem before?

What to do now, please help!

Seems like a strange problem.

Take it they are just standard headlights and not gas discharge ones?

Standard ones. I had to change it few months ago, since 1 light gone. I changed both and still have 1 old, think about it now, i'll gona try to put it back to see if that makes any diff.

The fact the lights came on then faded would suggest an earth problem for sure.

Any suggestions on where the eart connections for the lights?

Or is that the 1 from the engine to the chassis?
