Air flow sensor connector removal?

Featured Replies

Vrs 2.0 TFSI petrol : Can someone tell me me how this connector is disconnected from the air flow sensor (rear offside of engine cover). I couldn't get it and didn't want to risk breaking it?

Engine cover comes off easy with a small tug but this connector needs to be removed to get proper access.

Cheers

There is a small tab which locks the plug on.

Stu, there is a small tap at the top side of the connector with a slotted cutout but fiddled about with a screwdriver and I couldn't get it to budge so I didn't want to force it.

What direction does it move?

Cheers

Kaj

It's a little difficult to explain to be honest.

If you grasp the plug in your hand with your fingers underneath, your thumb should sit approximately over the tab. If you pull back on the tab with your thumb it will release the catch - No tools required.

If it is very tight then sometimes making sure it's pushed fully on before trying to pull it off helps.

Dont use a screw driver - it will break. Its designed for finger and thumb.

Same principal as this...
