Boot light part no's / cost

Featured Replies

I looking at improving the lighting in the boot and as well as a couple of small LED strips i'm also thinking about buying a second interior light and cutting out a small hole on the right hand side opposite the normal light so as to have one on each side of the boot. Then instead of the LED strips i'll pop a couple of 360degree w5w LED's in the two light fittings to see how that brightens things up..... More of an OEM look etc....

Does anybody know how much the boot light fitment would cost to buy from the stealers and any part numbers???

Cheers

Yeah i've seen that post a while back which is what initially started me off.......

The two options i'm looking at though with mine being a smaller boot are to fit another OEM light fitting on the opposite side of the boot and have 360degree LEDs in both...... Or fit some LED light strips either along the bottom edge of the boot or some smaller maybe 5cm strips along the underside edge of the speaker trim either side of the parcel shelf.

Unfortunately the Fabia doesn't have as many good 'hideable' positions for lighting in the boot as the Octy and Superb have. I need to be able to remove the parcel shelf which limits where i can place any lighting to either the the inside of the bootlip or the speaker housing either side of the parcel shelf etc...

How about those battery powered LED lights from JML sold in Homebase. Stick a few under the parcel shelf.

I was thinking all of this recently too..

One Thing I realised though (and, going by your posts you have too) is that lights in the boot lip are a bit pointless, the minute you put anything infront of them it'll block the light and just cast shadows.

I think your 2nd OEM lamp idea is the best.. should be easy to whip a cable round from the original, hidden inside the boot lip trim!

Looking forward to your results :)
