When do you throw a clay away?

Featured Replies

I was out giving 2 doors a claying this afternoon, and after only 1 door I thought the clay was in a right state, even after several "turns" - I have since given it more turns and it seems to look OK. At what point do you throw it out?

Couldn't believe the amount of stuff it was getting out the lacquer on the white car. The surface felt like it was almost unlacquered before I started work on it!

Here's a pic.

how big a bubble can you blow with it?

After claying all the panels, I use the dirty clay on wheels, then throw it away. I don't take the risk to use it again... :)

I would agree with the above but if the clay starts not to remove tar / dirt then it's time to put it in the bin.........

Thanks Mr Baker. This one was still working to when I stopped using it... I somehow cut myself whilst claying - quite deeply. I never felt it until I noticed red drips down the car.... Still don't know what did it. :o Right on the point of the digit you hold a pen with too. :(

I believe my clay above has more life left in it yet then. Have been kneading it regularly and it looks pretty good now.
