Whats this then?

Featured Replies

Hello, just been having a look around my car and noticed a black box type thing under the accelerator pedal with some wires going out of it. I'm guessing its a sensor module to pick up where the throttle is but would be nice to clarify. Anyone help?

drive-by-wire throttle module. There is a sensor inside to sense the pedal position, then the ECU uses an electric actuator to actually move the throttle on the engine.

I would think its referred to as a TPS - Throttle Postion Sensor. Not completely accurate on a diesel seeing as it doesn't have a throttle body
