Decat

Featured Replies

Ive just booked my car to get a turbo back custom exhaust with decat, the guy in the shop says it may bring up a warning light on the dash because of the decat. Has anyone experienced this light coming on and whats the likelihood it will? and is there a remedy if it does?

cheers

Karl

Defo will come on as the rear one will flag a problem with the cats threshold???

Some tuners can map this out or you could try spacing the probe out of the flow

i think there is maybe 1 or 2 people on here who have done it without any light coming up yet, but they might just be lucky so far, there is always pleanty of time for it to come on.

try searching decat as im pretty sure the topic has been covered many times before

Well next week i am getting a custom remap as well by v-sport in newcastle so if it does come do you think they'll be able to sort the light out?

Often wondered how you guys go on with the MOT with a decat? Do you have to be `friendly` with the tester? ;)

The garage 2 streets away from my house will sort my M.O.T out so im not concerned about that really, even if i was i'm keeping the cat anyway so i could put it back on if needed.

Hi

It would have to be remapped to stage 2 and ask for a specific map to stop the 2nd cat reading

But they do not guarantee that it works , and also in my mind , this is there for a reason , to help if there is a problem

If there is a problem and you have mapped out the sensor , then you could have issues that you dont know about :(

Sorry
