timed wipers

Featured Replies

in the manual it says that after washing the windscreen using the car's washer jets the wipers will wipe 4/5 times and then stop. after 5 seconds they will then give one final wipe. has anyone noticed if this works as it doesnt on my car. i think it might need enabling in the ECU but i am surprised it is not enabled as standard.

it does not appear to work on mine either - i'll have a check when i go back to the dealers this week with a few other queries

i asked the dealer to "enable" this function today and they said they cant as it doesn exist

This function is present on my Octy II. :)

I have it on my 54 Furby but not on a 56 Furby (note in manual says that it was 'removed' or something like that but doesn't make it clear whether it remained as a dormant function). I'm sure there was a spectacularly good reason for the change but lost on me. Some people like it, others not - personally I'm a fan but not losing sweat about it either way.

I find that final wipe a right pain, and want to have it disabled on my octavia. At this time of year, all it does is smear salt all over you nice just cleaned window, and in the summer it leaves streaks as the wiper drags across an almost dry screen.

The feature has also been removed from the latest octavia by default, although it can still be enabled in the maxidot display. It might be worth looking through the maxidot menus to see if the option to turn it on is present on the superb2.
