insurance question

Featured Replies

A friend has just been in an accident and the other driver has admitted liability, but he has just realised it is still the paper licence and has his parents address on it not his, will this invalidate the claim?

Many thanks in advance

Michael

Shouldn't do, however it is a criminal offensive not to have the correct address on your licence. I would get it sorted as soon as.

No - insurance is a separate issue, and liability for the accident is not dependent on licence status - in fact you can claim for an accident that wasn't your fault even if you weren't licenced to drive the vehicle you were driving AT ALL (although your claim would almost certainly be reduced).

Other poster is correct though - fines can follow for not keeping your licence up to date, and DVLA can revoke it if you take the mick.

If his parents still live there, then it's a valid contact address for him surely?
