Felicia central locking

Featured Replies

Does any one know if its possible to convert a 1.6 felicia manual central locking (uses key in door to lock them all) to a remote central locking ( uses a plip key to lock them all).

If so how and has any one done it?

I thought of maybe using something from another Felicia or to buy an alarm that has this function.

Thanks

Mike

This just may be a new question!

its easy with alarm. i'm using aftermarket alarm with so many functions since 2003.

Seconded  Most alarms will give you a lock and unlock wire which you hook up to the appropriate wires on the central locking.

A good basic alarm is probably the Toad Ai606. For example Toad Ai606 Thatcham Cat 1 Car Alarm/Immobiliser System on eBay, also Car Alarms Immobilisers, Security Electrical, Car Accessories, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 26-Jan-09 17:52:18 GMT)

or a Viper 1002 offers more interesting features if you can be bothered to wire them up. For example http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VIPER-1002-CAR-ALARM-SECURITY-SYSTEM-FROM-CLIFFORD_W0QQitemZ400016645348QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item400016645348&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A4|65%3A1|39%3A1|240%3A1318

Manuals for both are available for free on the net with a few minutes using Google.

Or if cost is important and you don't want an alarm you could try something like this Keyless Entry System Remote Central Locking Upgrade Kit on eBay, also Other Security Electrical, Security Electrical, Car Accessories, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 31-Jan-09 13:39:47 GMT) but I cannot vouch for the quality.

It's not too difficult to DIY an alarm install if you have some knowledge of car electrical systems, soldering, and the electrical diagrams in the Haynes manual.

This is not a recommendation of the kit, but Fylde Imports are a known player in the Jap Grey Import market as they suggest there, and do actually have a reputation to protect.
