Clutch failure - 2.0L TDi

Featured Replies

2006 - 2.0 TDi elegance only 62000km on the clock, not driven hard and the clutch has failed. Think this is a hydralic clutch, pedal went straight to the floor. Left me stranded in the middle of no-where..............Anyone else have this problem??!

Its usually the dual mass flywheel that goes and does the clutch with it.

Let us know what the verdict is when you find out.

Good luck with it

Quite a frequent occurrence on the MK 1, especially in the cold weather. You can pull the pedal up by hand and carry on until the next time it happens. A new master cylinder usually sorts out this particular clutch problem.

Had exactly that problem on my 52 plate Golf. I think there was a duff master cylinder period, because the same problem has been posted on here before. The local VW agent did mine under warranty and it took about an hour.

I doubt it will be a clutch issue of the pedal has hit the floor.

They can suffer from the plastic rod breaking in between the mater cylinder body and the pedal. It could also be a leak on the clutch or brake system of course.
