2.0fsi DMF?

Featured Replies

I've had a problem with a juddery clutch in my '07 2.0fsi since new. It's particularly apparent when undertaking any kind of hill-start (forwards - backwards - and it doesn't need to be much of a hill). A recent stint driving another car has reminded me that there's something not quite right.

It seems that there's a relationship between the dual mass flywheel and clutch problems with diesel Octavias and I've noted there are rumours that some fsi models have the dual-mass too.

So; is there any way of identifying whether the flywheel is dual-mass or not - other than taking the thing apart - not a DIY option - or a visit to the dealers - my most local, DCCrooks, having claimed there's no problem twice previously?

Thanks!
