Adaptive Headlights

Featured Replies

Can someone tell me if both headlights change their beam pattern. I am quite sure that both headlight beams converged when slowing down behind a vehicle in traffic, and when stationary you could see the reflection of both moving. I noticed this evening that only the offside one altered its beam. Was I dreaming that both did it? Also both foglamps have a lot of condensation in them not just misted up but droplets of water covering both lenses to such an extent it is pooling at the bottom. Took it to the dealer and they have ordered replacements. Will keep you posted on this. Mileage is now 5500 and love driving the car. Hate the dented near side doors. Waiting for the Insurance people to approve the estimate of £2000 + of . Glad its not my insurance company footing the bill:)

HI Drummond,

Very strange, I have just noticed the beam movement on my way home tonight it would appear to me as if the right hand beam moves to light up the right hand side of the road, The brochure states that it illuminates the pavement, it does but to my untrained eys it lights up the wrong footpath does any one know how we can determine if the system is set for driving as if the car lived on the continent?

Now just 3 weeks old and 3500 on clock what an awesome car!!!!!!

Hi Superb 555

Glad you noticed it as well. Do both of your headlights move or just one? Nearly 6000 miles on the clock and I love driving it still. Be even better when the near side doors are replaced and repaired

At the moment I have only noticed the offside one moving but will look tomorrow and see what I can deduce.

Apart from that what mpg are you getting my overall from day of collection is 44.9 which I am well pleased with as I know with time it will improve quite a bit.

And the upgrades stereo is absolutely astounding.

I journey a once week to the West Midlands and back Home every week plus pottering around West Wales shopping etc around 500 per week in total. I am averaging just over 51mpg according to the trip computer so in reality around 48mpg. Not too bad for a car of this size. I love the upgraded stereo too and the DSG gearbox and....and.....and too many things I like about it. Having the doors stoved in has taken some of the shine off it and as soon as that is repaired I will be a lot happier.

You are right I am deluged by the number of people telling me that I have a fog light out lol the heathens, I think I noticed some movement in near side headlight tonight but street lights makes it hard to work out.

You were luck with the doors at least she left her details I had mark 1 superb bent at rear end they did not leave details.

The movement on the lights is very subtle, but you can easily notice it if you are travelling on a series of left, right, left bends in quick succession. The beams swing quite noticeably, and helpfully, in this situation.

Like you, I've had lots of people tell me that I've got a fog light out. I've also got misted up fog lights, which I've only just noticed. Sounds like I'm not alone, though.

Went to the dealers Friday as both spot lamps have water in them. Not just condensation, but actual droplets of water running down the inside of both lenses. When removed water was seen to be leaking out between the lense cover and the main unit. Photographs were taken by the Dealer and forwarded to Skoda UK. A slight misting is acceptable but this is more than misting. I will keep you posted on the outcome. BTW Lights are made by Hella
