Just wondering if a year 2000, 1.6lxi would have a AEE engine or a AEH engine.

Don't know if its the same with the 1.6's but the 1.8T's have the engine code stamped on the cylinder head on the left hand side. Remove the engine cover and it should be there.

the lxi is 75 bph

and i checked it against this

and the 75 bph is the aee

is that correct ?

i can see a sticker on the left hand side of the engine that says AEE 807 388. This is with out taking the engine cover off.

Which means i thought i had the wrong engine hehe :P
