ive just got a 07 vrs i need help with my head unit. is it realy any use?? i want to use my ipod but im told i have to sack the multichanger in the boot.:confused: i dont realy have a problem with this althogh i thought id be able to use both. I went to the dealer today thinking i could get a cable that i could run from the back of the headunit no such luck turns out i need to buy sum sorta box that goes in my glove box and then this will allow me to connect my ipod the price of this is £99.00 then i have to pay to get it fitted:eek: apparently this is the only way to do it and it will display andallow me to work my ipod from the head unit!!! before i cough up this money can any1 tell me is this the only and cheapest way:confused: ny help on this would be much appreciated:thumbup:

Before you consider buying the lead, check how much 'control' it actually gives over the ipod. From what I can gather it is fairly limited, so I doubt you'll be able to make a lot of the selections which you can on the ipod itself.

VRStu do these devices work ok?? The manager at my local dealer had 1 in his vrs and said it wasnt much use. im not to fussed about it displaying on the headunit i just want my ipod in my car and would be happy if i can select my tunes through the ipod itself!! do you no if i have to sacrifice my 6 disc changer??

Yes you would loose it.

I'm no expert, but I think that if you fitted a Dension Gateway with one of these:

Dension: Accessories

then you could retain your cd changer. Not sure how it would work control-wise. Presumably pressing CD/AUX would cycle between the units, but don't quote me on that.
