Sphere Sub Box Polished Up

Featured Replies

Well this was an interesting challenge!

My brother bought a sub box for his home stereo and it needed a little TLC. I wasn't Sure on how hard it was going to be as I wasn't sure what kind of finish it had but this shows the layers used to make it.

Unfortunately I forgot to take a good before overall pic but here goes.

The Sphere was first wiped down with Megs NXT detailer and eurow towels and then clayed using the NXT to lube it.

I then started on the polishing pad using 3.02 and made little difference to any of the marks so slowly worked to a more aggressive cut till I settled on using the cutting pad with 85rd as it was offering 90% correction and I wasn't sure how much I had to play with so didnt want to go much more aggressive.

I then worked back to using the 3.02 on a polishing pad, then I used some AG SRP to try and fill some of the remaining marks which had not been removed because I like the finish offered from SRP when machine applied. I then applied WMF on a finishing aswell for the final work, i will be waxing probably with Vics concours when i can afford to get some.

my only dislike was upclose under the led light it appeared to have a white haze in the colour but is difficult to notice in normal conditions.

My Products To Use where;

Sonus Green Clay

Sonus SFX 1, 2, 3 pads

Menz 85rd and 85rb3.02

AG SRP

CG WMF

CG Speed Wipe

And it will be waxed once i decide what to use on it.

So The before pics i have;
