Is the Octy II 16" steel spare wheel identical to that supplied with the Superb II?

Featured Replies

I'm considering buying a set of 16" steel wheels for use with winter tyres and would like to know whether the Octy II 16" steel spare wheel is identical to that fitted to the Superb II.

If so, does anyone know how much SUK charges PER wheel?

Octavia II Steelies are about £40 each.

Best to get them second hand if you can.

Your dealer might have some from upgrades to alloys they've done,

otherwise it's the scrappy, just make sure you take a good look at them,

if you know a decent tyre fitter, take the wheels to them to have a good second look.

IIRC all A5 platform cars take the same wheels (Golf mkV, Octy II, Superb II, Passat)

Although I'm sure someone else will confirm / correct.

My 17" alloys say 7Jx17 ET54 on them, studs are 5x112

Hope that helps .... Darren

I've just examined the Superb II spare wheel which is actually 7J x 16 (5 stud), ET 45. I believe the Octy II steel wheels are 6.5J x 16.

I'll enquire at my local dealer before resorting to the scrappy for a set of Superb I steel wheels.

I've got a puncture repair sealant in my Vrs. Is there room for another Zenith allloy and jack etc as I don't trust these kits ?

Octi spare should be a 6.0 x 16 ET 50 (maybe a 6.5, but I think it is a 6.0. Both with ET50).

And studs are 5 x 112 (not 113 as Darren (mis)typed ;)).
